Very low monthly costs thanks to low additional tax rate
As a civil servant, you only pay additional tax on the list value of the speed pedelec (7% per year), while your employer pays the full lease cost. This allows you to use a high-end speed pedelec for a fraction of the normal price, up to a value of €7,000.

Example 1
Gross income €4,000 per month
Monthly addition: €40.83
Net cost per month: €40.83 × 37% = €15.11
Example 2
Gross income €6,500 per month
Monthly addition: €40.83
Net cost per month: €40.83 × 49.5% = €20.21
What happens after the contract expires?
During the 36-month lease period, the speed pedelec remains the property of the leasing company. At the end of the lease contract, you usually have the option to take over the bike at a residual value, which is usually between 20% and 30% of the original purchase price.

- Purchase price speed pedelec: €6,999
- Residual value (30%): €2,099
About three months before the end of your lease contract, you will receive an offer from the leasing company with the exact takeover price. If you decide not to take over the bike, you return it to the leasing company free of charge.
The exact residual value can vary and depends on factors such as the condition of the bike and the market value at the time of acquisition.
Taking over your lease bike can be beneficial, especially if the bike has been well maintained and you are happy with its use. You get a trusted bike whose maintenance history you know, and you avoid the cost of a new bike.
