Speed Pedelecs are mainly different from traditional electric bikes in terms of speed and reliability. While most regular e-bikes are legally limited to 25 km/h, Speed Pedelecs can reach speeds of up to 45 km/h. This allows you to cover greater distances in a shorter time, but also allows you to cycle much longer at a slightly slower speed compared to an e-bike due to the larger battery capacity. Using a Speed Pedelec uses less energy than an e-bike, you won't have to deal with traffic jams and you'll be healthier compared to using a car.
Unique speed and performance

Klever Speed Pedelecs are equipped with front and rear disc brakes. If you squeeze both brakes, you stand still quickly. Another advantage is that disc brakes allow you to brake well in all weather conditions. In addition, all Klever Speed Pedelecs are equipped with indicators, easily operated with a small button on the handlebar. This allows you to keep both hands on the handlebars while indicating direction and it is clearly visible from a distance that you are changing direction.
In Switzerland, special rules apply to electric bikes: They require insurance and a yellow number plate. The minimum age for use is 14 and an M licence is required. Wearing a helmet is compulsory. Speed Pedelecs can be ridden anywhere and are in the same category as motorised bicycles. These regulations ensure that Speed Pedelecs can be used safely in traffic.
